Mac is a popular desktop computer operating system used in the United States. The average home computer uses at least one Mac, so it would be easy to assume that Mac is the best choice for people who want to create virtual models of their homes. But, as the Internet continues to grow, creating and sharing virtual models of your house will soon require a more sophisticated tool, such as SketchUp. SketchUp is a widely used software program that allows you to draw virtually any object on your computer screen and save them into an image file that can be viewed on a computer. Now, SketchUp is also available for the Mac, so you can use this application to build your virtual model of your home.
Because SketchUp is written in C++, the Mac version of the application works quite differently than its Windows counterpart. In order to use the Mac version of SketchUp, you will need to download the application from the Apple website. Once you have downloaded the software, you can open it with Macromedia Fireworks. Then, you should drag and drop your image files onto the SketchUp window and resize them so that they are correct in size. You should then begin creating your virtual model of your home. For example, if you wish to create a room for the front porch, you might select the room icon, then click "Add Room." Once you do this, you should add as many rooms as you wish to your virtual model, allowing you to create your house in an orderly fashion.
Finally, it's time to get started using your virtual model. If you find that there are areas that need to be updated, simply double-click the file to update it, or click the tile again to return to your regular view. Finally, open SketchUp and begin building your virtual house.
